Tewkesbury Labour Party received some incredibly sad news in the build up to Christmas, when we found out a much loved and respected Labour Party member, Ken Rogers, had passed away.

Ken was an energising, kind, and vibrant member of our CLP, having taken up Tewkesbury CLP’s candidacy for the 2020 Winchcombe County Council by-election and putting himself forward the roles of Gloucestershire Police Commissioner and Churchdown County Council candidate in 2021, roles we were looking forward to him delivering with the same skill, enthusiasm, and dedication he brought to his professional career.

Ken was a respected civil rights lawyer by profession, living in Gotherington with his wife, Linda, for over 40 years whilst bringing up 2 daughters.  In recent years, as foster parents, Ken and Linda provided a secure home for children, who also benefitted from their care.

We were all looking forward to 2021 and campaigning with Ken in this year’s elections. We are saddened he will not be with us.  Ken will be hugely missed by all who knew him in Tewkesbury Labour Party, but our memories of him will always be fond.

Ken’s family have launched a Just Giving page in his memory and all money raised will go to a combination of Macmillan Cancer Support, Great Western Air Ambulance and East & North Herts Maternity Unit.  Here is the link if you wish to make a donation – https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/kenneth-rogers?fbclid=IwAR2JgldqIsEcVix4xl7PvKjMtX-gE25gIpiC43TC9BhO822VIhiQJAO62k4
